Dr.
Colin Jeschke-Veterinarian
Dr. Colin Jeschke is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland in 1981. He then attended the University of Glasgow, Scotland, where he obtained his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1986. He worked with a mixed animal practice in the south of England for about 6 months prior to returning to the U.S. He has been practicing veterinary medicine in Pennsylvania since 1987. He was employed by Dalton Veterinary Associates until 1999. In June of that year he founded Abington Veterinary Center, and has been here ever since.
Dr. Jeschke currently serves as treasurer of the Lackawanna County Humane Society. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, and the Northeast Veterinary Medical Association. He also has an interest in veterinary ophthalmology.
Dr. Jeschke resides in Clarks Summit with his wife Nancy, and his two daughters, Victoria and Emily.

Jan
– Office Manager
Jan is originally from Baltimore, Md. where she graduated from the Villa Julie College medical assistant course. She has worked as a veterinary assistant and office manager for over twenty years. Jan has been with Abington Veterinary Center since its inception.
Jan is an exhibitor and breeder of AKC English Setters. Seven of Jan’s own personal dogs have earned championship titles, as well as 9 dogs that she has bred that are now owned by other people.
Jan is an instructor of obedience and conformation handling classes for the Lackawanna Kennel Club. She was the President of the LKC for 8 years.
Jan lives with her husband Chuck, and their 7 dogs, 2 horses, and 1 cat. She has 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren.

Danielle
C.V.T. – Head Veterinary Technician
Danielle is originally from Long Island, NY. She graduated from Johnson College in 2000 with a degree in Veterinary Technology and passed the veterinary technician national exam that summer to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has worked in both small animal and equine practice. Danielle has been with Abington Veterinary Center since February of 2002.
Danielle is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Pennsylvania Veterinary Technicians Association (PVTA), the Northeastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, and the Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians, andthe American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the PVTA, and was recently elected Vice President for 2008.
Danielle also serves on the Program Advisory Committee for the Vet Tech Program at Johnson College. She is very committed to educating the general public as well as the veterinary community about the value of credentialed veterinary technicians. Her main professional interests are in anesthesia and pain management as well as canine behavior and training. Personally, she is interested in dog agility and clicker training. She actively competes in agility with Samantha, and is currently training Floppy for competition. She also enjoys equestrian activities with her horse Sassy.
Danielle lives in Nicholson with her husband Ben and their 5 dogs, Samantha, Winnie, Mello, Floppy, and Boba and their 4 cats Seven, Myelo, Bad Kitty, and Gimpy.

Kerry C.V.T. – Certified Veterinary Technician
Kerry is a 2005 graduate of the Veterinary Technology Program at Johnson College. In June 2005 she passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam, becoming a C.V.T. Kerry completed her externship here and has been employed with us as a Certified Veterinary Technician since then.
Kerry was born and raised in the Tunkhannock are and still resides there with her boyfriend Jay. They share their home with their 3 dogs, Stoney, Janey, and PeeWee. Kerry also has 7 more dogs, 4 horses, and a goat that reside at her Mother’s home.
Kerry’s main professional interest is Dentistry. She is also primarily responsible for running our laboratory. Kerry is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Technician Association, the Northeast Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians. |

Barbara- Veterinary Assistant
Barbara is originally from Tunkhannock, PA. She worked at a local thoroughbred breeding farm for over 20 years, spending the last 10 as the manager. When word came that the farm was being sold, she was offered a position here at Abington Veterinary Center. She has been with us as a Veterinary Assistant since November 2006.
Barb lives in Clarks Summit with her daughter Elizabeth, their dog Mike and cat Sunny. Barb enjoys gardening and caring for her Koi pond in her spare time. |

Carlie
– Patient Care Coordinator
Carlie is a 1997 graduate of Abington Heights High School. In 1999 she graduated from the State University of New York in Cobleskill with an Associate's degree in Thoroughbred Management. She also interned at Lazy F racing and breeding farm where she groomed, hot walked, and lounged racehorses as well as cared for them.
She began working for Abington Veterinary Center in 2000. In 2001 Carlie married her husband Jason. Carlie is the proud parent of 2 beautiful daughters, Paige and Ayla. They live with their four cats Sabrina, Shiloh, Leo, and Amber. They also have a Foxhound named Mork who resides with Carlie’s mother in Waverly. Carlie can often be found at the barn riding, training, and spending time with her three Thoroughbred horses Coltie, Connie, and Chase, two of which were rescued off the racetrack. Her fifteen years of riding and showing include dressage, jumping, eventing, pony clubbing, as well as peaceful trail rides. Coltie and Carlie’s ribbon collection include two champion dressage ribbons and one reserve champion dressage ribbon. They also placed third in their first musical freestyle dressage competition. Her hobbies include dog agility, and vacations with her husband to Saratoga racetrack for the Travers Stakes.

Kathleen - Client Service Specialist and Veterinary Technician Student
Kathleen has been with Abington Veterinary Center since 2006, however, she has worked in the veterinary industry for over 15 years. Despite her many years of experience, Kathleen remains committed to attending college to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She is finally realizing her dream by starting the Vet Tech program at Manor College in the fall of 2007.
Kathleen is a student member of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Technician Association, as well as the Vet Tech Club at Manor College. She resides in Gouldsboro, PA, with her husband David, 2 children, Kirsten and Liam, and their 4 dogs and 3 cats.

Rebekah – Veterinary Assistant
Rebekah has been with Abington Veterinary Center since 2006. She was hired to fill a temporary position as Heather left us and Barb was unable to start right away. She did such a good job that she is still here a year later. Rebekah attended the Vet Tech Program at Johnson College, but changed course and now attends McCann Business School.
Rebekah is a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. She resides in Scranton with her many pets, including a large number of exotics, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and even a chicken.
You will not see Rebekah at the office for a while as she is currently on active duty for the United States Army.

Heather
– Veterinary Assistant
Heather has moved on to bigger and better things. She is currently a student in Marywood University’s Physician Assistant Program. She is still the friendly voice that you hear on our voicemail.

Lynne Anne – Veterinary Technician
Lynne graduated from Harcum College with a degree in
Veterinary technology. She has been with Abington Veterinary
Center Since the beginning. Lynne is the friendly face
that you see every Saturday morning. During the rest
of the week she is concentrating on raising her two
sons Gavin and Reese. She currently resides in Mt.Cobb
with her husband Henry, their 2 boys, and their Husky
Navarro and cat Gilly.
